Class Descriptions

Chakra 1 (approx. 1 hour) – Muladhara Chakra
Beginning with a brief description of the chakra and an opening mantra, this is a grounding class to bring a sense of strength and stability both mentally and physically. Poses include standing and seated postures with alignment detail. The class ends with svasana and a visualisation.

Chakra 2 (approx. 1 hour) – Svadhisthana Chakra
Beginning with a brief description of the chakra and an opening mantra, this is a flowing class aimed at inspiring creativity. Poses include a warrior flow, sun salutations and hip openers. The class ends with svasana and a visualisation.

Chakra 3 (approx. 1 hour) – Manipura Chakra
Beginning with a brief description of the chakra, kapalabhati breathing and an opening mantra, this class is aimed at stimulating the digestive system. Poses include core work and backbends. The class ends with svasana and a visualisation.

Chakra 4 (approx. 1 hour) – Anahata Chakra
Beginning with a brief description of the chakra and an opening mantra, the theme of this class is healing the heart. The practice aims at moving Prana through the hands, arms, heart and lungs. Poses include shoulder openers and backbends. The class ends with svasana and a beautiful quote.

Chakra 5 (approx. 1 hour) – Vishuddha Chakra
Beginning with a brief description of the chakra and an opening mantra, this class is aimed at stimulating the neck and throat and regulating the thyroid gland. The practice includes sun salutations, preparatory poses for Salamba Sarvangasana (shoulder stand), Halasana and Karnapidasana, ending in svasana and a mantra.

Chakra 6 (approx. 1 hour) – Ajna Chakra
Beginning with a brief description of the chakra and an opening mantra, this class focuses on both keeping the physical eyes healthy and cultivating our intuition or inner knowing. The practice is aimed at activating the pineal gland and includes sun salutations, a series of supported forward bends and sirsasana (headstand). The class ends with svasana and a meditation.

Chakra 7 (approx. 1 hour) – Sahasrara Chakra
Beginning with a brief description of the chakra and an opening mantra, this class focuses on both keeping the physical eyes healthy and cultivating our intuition or inner knowing. The practice is aimed at lengthening the spine and activating the pituitary gland. Poses include sun salutations, a series of forward bends, sirsasana (headstand) and sarvangasana (shoulder stand). The class ends with svasana and a meditation.
