Chiusi della Verna, Italy
This is the perfect retreat for nature and yoga lovers. Set in the national park of the Casentine Forests beneath the sacred mountain of La Verna.
ABOUT THE VENUE
You will be staying in a 17th century rustic farmhouse, unreachable by car, situated within a national park in one of the largest areas of forests in Europe. This region of Italy is a paradise for hikers and nature lovers. There are also several waterfalls and natural pools for wild swimming in the area, some within 30 mins hiking distance from the house.
The house is just a 1.5 hour hike to the medieval monastery of St.Francis of Assisi. The ancient beech forest surrounding the monastery has been protected for centuries and is home to the tallest white spruce in Italy.
Solar power, wood stoves and the bumpy road offer an authentic off-grid experience. A rare privilege to go into the wild and take a break from urban life and modern conveniences. Drinkable mountain spring water flows fresh from the taps. Wood burning stoves provide heating for the house and hot water.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Each day will begin with a yoga class, consisting mainly of asana and some meditation. The level will be set according to the ability of students present at the retreat so that all levels, from beginner to advanced, will be able to enjoy the practice. Another session will be offered in the afternoon, which will be a more gentle, nurturing practice consisting mainly of restoratives, pranayama and mantra.
In your free time, you will be able to hike to the monastery of St.Francis and the sacred forests of La Verna, take a refreshing dip in one of the forest pools or simply sit and enjoy the peace of this magical remote place.

“One of the main attractions for coming here apart from the location, was to have a week of Lucinda’s teachings. I learn so much, but it is always fun and stress-free. Having her here too was the icing on the cake. I’ve enjoyed the yoga, surprised myself that I also enjoyed the meditation. The chanting and pranayama have been really enjoyable. This has been an exceptional trip for me. Thank you.” Karen
“Thank you for all your hard work in making our trip really special and memorable.”
“A full immersion of all things yoga with the wonderful Lucinda with personal adjustments and teachings. Yoga was adapted for all levels with one-to-one assessment. A truly once in a lifetime experience.”
“To practise twice daily was a valuable experience. Building everyday – I loved how we were eased into the asana and gradually became more dynamic as the week progressed. The classes are always peppered with fun and humour. I feel great in my body and inspired to practice more at home. Body, mind and spirit are felling aligned. Thank you!”
“I will treasure my whole experience forever. Lucinda is a brilliant and very experienced teacher in yoga and philosophy. Highly recommended. Thanks a million.” Emma
