Restorative Yoga is a deeply relaxing practice which can help to undo the negative effects of stress. Studies show that longterm stress is detrimental to both the immune and digestive systems. When the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) is activated over long periods of time, the body secretes stress hormones which divert energy away from the digestive system, preventing us from getting the nutrients from the food we eat. Furthermore, if we are in the habit of being constantly busy, it can be hard to slow down and rest – it is as if the body has forgotten how. We then need to relearn how to relax and give the body time to restore balance.

This session is aimed at helping the body and mind to release tension, and activate the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest mode). A regular restorative practice is highly recommended as both a preventative and a healing measure in helping you to maintain a healthy life balance.

“I just wanted you to know how much I loved it. I couldn’t stop smiling afterwards and felt so tall and open.” C

“Thank you for a wonderfully restoring session on Sunday. I slept like a log and feel very calm today. I shall look forward to the next one.”S

That was a lovely class Lucinda.  Although it was painful for me to move from one pose to the another, once I was in position I was able to stretch and soften and breathe into the pain in my back until it wasn’t important. I slept well and my back feels easier this morning! Thank you!” S
“Absolutely wonderful class tonight. Thank you so very much xxx” F
