Meditation and Supper Evening – Into the Mountains

Lime House Yoga Studio, Mount
6.30 – 8.30pm followed by supper

June 28, 2019

For thousands of years, aspirants have gone up into the mountains in search of the Truth, to contemplate the meaning of life or simply to find some kind of serenity.

What is it about the mountain landscape that draws us? And  what can we expect to find there to help us in our quest? David Hinton, in his book, ‘Hunger Mountain’ offers this insight:

”A mountain can be a great teacher – not only because it manifests that cosmology of sincerity and restless hunger with such immediacy and drama, but also because it stands apart, at once elusive and magisterial.”

In this session we will contemplate the symbolism of the mountains in the context of spiritual teachings and explore tools for navigating our way through the challenging territory of our inner world. The evening will include a dharma talk (teachings), guided meditation and a light supper.

Lucinda was initiated into the practice of Vipassana meditation in 2000 at the Dhamma Dipa Centre with Goenkaji. Her other main influences are Insight Meditation and Thich That Hanh.
